The 32-year-old striker, without a club after departing from Leeds United, has agreed to a contract joining the second-tier strugglers until January. His lengthy career with Leeds finished through agreement this past summer. Among the player's final notable acts as a Leeds player involved leading offensive chants about Chris Wilder amid Leeds' promotion celebrations this spring. Currently, the former England player is set to play for Wilder as the Blades’ manager seeks to rescue the team he loves out of the bottom places. Past History Involving Bamford & the Manager Both men had a past before Leeds won promotion to the Premier League last season and United were defeated in the promotion decider to Sunderland. The manager called Bamford as a "muppet" when the situation was different in 2018-19 and the Blades won direct promotion whereas Leeds fell short in the playoffs. Reconciliation & Moving Forward Everything seems has been forgiven and forgotten with Sheffield United, the Championship’s least productive attack, in desperate need of a boost in attack and Bamford looking to rejuvenate his career. The Wilder chant went viral this spring. An apologetic Bamford along with Leeds boss, Daniel Farke, called Wilder the next day. Chris Wilder said at the time: “Spoke with Patrick recently and I’ve no problem whatsoever with it. I’m not sure about the language from a fellow professional! But I appreciated and admired him giving me a call. “We had 20 minutes and the same again I spoke to Daniel Farke as well and we had a half-hour chat with him and he is a great person, a top guy. Back in my playing days we used to dish it out and take it and that’s part and parcel of the game at every level, including a Sunday morning. I've got no problem at all. I am cool with it and I said that to Pat.” Recent Career Challenges Bamford made 18 appearances with Leeds United in the previous campaign however the ex- Forest, Chelsea & Boro player has faced difficulties with injury over the past few seasons.
